Checking out Materials
- Students need to present a photo ID (BTC student ID card or a government issued photo ID). Loaner equipment such as laptops and WiFi hotspots require government issued photo ID.
- Community members need to show proof of address when setting up a library account, anyone who lives in our district can check out materials (excluding student loaner equipment) from the Blackhawk Technical College library
Renewing Materials
Need more time with your books?
If no one else is waiting for them, many materials loans can be renewed to extend the due date. Loaner equipment must be renewed in-person.
- Online in the Encore Library catalog in your library account
- In person at any the Central Campus Learning Commons Library desk in the Student Success Center (room 2200)

You will receive a new due date via your Blackhawk email.
Request Forms
- Purchase Recommendation FormFill out this form to suggest physical or online additions to the library collection. We welcome suggestions from students, staff, and faculty.
- Interlibrary Loan Request FormFill out this form If you need any materials we do not have in our catalog. Request books, articles and media. This service is available to current Blackhawk Technical College students, faculty, and staff.
- Library Instruction RequestFill out this form to request library visits to your class and/or online library materials. Library instruction is developed by the librarian to meet the critical thinking learning objectives of each course. Complete the form to request library workshops, online guides and library tutorials. We recommend making your request at least two weeks in advance. Library staff will contact you to discuss class needs and confirm details.
- Curriculum Reserve RequestFill out this form to place textbooks and other course materials in the Curriculum Reserve Collection at the Learning Commons Library at the Central campus and/or Monroe campus locations for students to access for free.
- Open Education Resource ConsultationFill out this form to request a consultation meeting in-person or online and/or OER recommendations. The librarian will respond within a week.
